Later this year, Re.decay, a Berlin-based music duo comprised of Emanuel Bender and Owen Ross, will organize a songwriting camp in Johannesburg, Gauteng. Young musicians will benefit from the duo’s industry expertise as they prepare for success in the local music industry.
RE.DECAY’S SONGWRITING CAMP
Re.decay has collaborated with some of the most talented artists in the world, including Shekinah of South Africa, The Roots, Big Boi, Tim Turner, Slim Lucius, Sigrid, Alle Farben, and others. The multinational music duet is dedicated to imparting their industry expertise to South Africa’s upcoming stars.
Their songwriting camp will emphasize the composition, production, and release of chart-topping tunes. Young artists were encouraged to apply for the camp, and 12 applications would be chosen to participate.
During the week-long songwriting camp, Re.decay will guide the young musicians through three workshops, a listening party, and clear contracts.
WHAT ELSE TO Anticipate
According to Emanuel Bender, the ensemble will foster an environment where musicians may be creative and learn from one another.
Bender continued, “Insights from a wide variety of industry leaders will present a transparent view of the challenges associated with entering such a competitive business, generating discussions about creativity, self-worth, female empowerment, and organized finances.”
To assure the success of the songwriting camp, Re.decay has partnered with the Africa Rising Conference (ARMC).
“One of the major tenets of ARMC is the construction of bridges. Sarah Jane Nicholson, the creator of ARMC, stated, “We are pleased to have presented Re.decay to a number of local partners and to be supporting this fantastic initiative.”
