Rangers Supporters Demand Immediate Dismissals of Manager Russell Martin and CEO Patrick Stewart at Ibrox Following Poor Premiership Start

The tension at Ibrox is reaching boiling point. After a shocking home defeat to Hearts last Saturday, Rangers find themselves sitting 10th in the Premiership table with just four points—a start the club hasn’t seen since the 1978-79 season.

Frustration among supporters is now spilling over into outright calls for drastic action.

Union Bears Call for Martin and Stewart to Go

Leading fan group the Union Bears has stepped into the spotlight, urging fellow supporters to join them in demanding the immediate dismissal of both manager Russell Martin and CEO Patrick Stewart.

Ahead of Saturday’s Premier Sports Cup quarter-final against Hibs, the Ultras have asked fans to gather outside Ibrox at 4:30pm, carrying the message loud and clear: ‘Martin out, Stewart out.’

In a strong statement on social media, the group said: “Russell Martin has shown beyond doubt that he is not capable of leading Rangers Football Club.

The performances under his management are a disgrace to the standards this club was built on.

Patrick Stewart, as CEO, bears full responsibility for appointing Martin and must also be held accountable.

The new owners must act decisively or leave the support with no option but to act themselves.”

Poor Form and European Disappointment Fuel Frustration

Since taking over in the summer, Martin has won only three of his 12 matches in charge.

Rangers also suffered a humiliating Champions League qualifying exit, losing 9-1 on aggregate to Club Brugge.

Despite being jeered by fans last weekend, Martin has insisted he has no intention of stepping down.

Supporters Association Warns of Apathy

The Rangers Supporters Association has added their voice, warning that the club’s inaction is harming Rangers.

In a social media statement, they said: “The continued lack of visible action is deeply concerning, especially with poor performances on the pitch and falling ticket sales.

Apathy is already setting in among supporters, and the club must act now to resolve this situation and outline a clear way forward.”

Fan Advisory Board Confirms Club’s Backing of Martin

Despite the growing fan outrage, the Rangers Fan Advisory Board confirmed that the club’s board continues to support Martin.

Following a lengthy meeting with CEO Patrick Stewart, sporting director Kevin Thelwell, and other officials, the board stated: “We had a full and frank discussion with the club.

Fans’ concerns about the manager’s performance were fully aired.

The club continues to back the manager—a stance we challenged strongly.

Full minutes of the meeting will be published before the weekend.”

The Club Faces a Crucial Weekend

With the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final against Hibs looming, Rangers are under intense scrutiny.

Fans’ frustration shows no signs of easing, and the pressure is mounting on both Martin and Stewart.

Whether the club will act before the weekend or face a fan revolt outside Ibrox remains the question on everyone’s mind.
