RANDLE GENERAL HOSPITAL URGES LAGOSIANS TO EMBRACE HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME

… Says Over 8,000 Enrollees Are Registered With The Hospital

The Medical Director of Randle General Hospital, Dr. (Mrs.) Aduke Odutayo has described the Lagos State Health Insurance Scheme introduced by the State Government as the wisest way to plan and solve health challenges for all residents, just as she urged more Lagosians to enroll on the scheme.

Dr. Odutayo, who made the call recently while reviewing the activities of the scheme since its introduction at the hospital in 2019, stated that 8,702 residents have so far registered with the hospital, being one of the facilities approved for the scheme, noting, however, that only 1,153 have so far accessed the health services.

She averred that with the launch of “Ilera Eko” project by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Randle General Hospital is also at the forefront of advocacy to ensure that more Lagosians embrace the initiative.

While describing the Lagos State Health Insurance Scheme as a safety net for solving health issues without burning a hole in the pocket, the Medical Director invited more enrollees to register with the hospital, particularly the elderly.

Odutayo said, “We have quite a large number of enrollees who have registered and are already enjoying the services provided by the scheme, by God’s Grace, we hope to add more enrollees under the scheme”.

She stated that the Lagos State Health Scheme (LSHS) team at the hospital remains committed to ensuring that all enrollees have access to good, quality and affordable healthcare under the initiative.

“RGH provides enrollees with some of the best healthcare benefits under the Scheme. These include enrollment and consultation, treatment of common ailments such as Malaria, Hypertension, Diabetes, Dental care, Ultrasound Scan, Radiological and Laboratory Investigations, Neonatal Services, Obstetrics and Gynecological Care and Delivery, all within the scope of the coverage of the Health Insurance Scheme”, the Medical Director disclosed.

She mentioned that quality services rendered by the hospital have endeared it to many health seekers, saying that the scope of its Radiological Services has now been expanded in addition to the Electronic Medicine initiative of the hospital.
