The Los Angeles Rams had a scare on Sunday when wide receiver Puka Nacua suffered a nasty cut to his head after a heavy collision on the field.
What looked like a routine play quickly turned into a worrying moment as he left with blood coming from his eye.
The Scary Hit
The injury happened when Nacua absorbed a helmet-to-helmet blow from a Houston Texans defender right in the middle of the action.
He was taken out of the game immediately, with the Rams announcing he was questionable to return.
Not long after, however, fans spotted him back on the sideline, patched up with a large bandage on his head.
Back and Forth on the Field
In true gritty fashion, Nacua returned to the game in the second quarter.
But just before halftime, he was again seen heading into the medical tent—this time to have his bandage adjusted, according to the broadcasters covering the game.
Moments later, he came back onto the field once again, determined not to let the injury slow him down.
Battling Through Injuries
This isn’t the first time Nacua has had to push through physical setbacks.
Last season, he dealt with a PCL strain that kept him sidelined for five weeks.
Despite that, his rookie campaign was nothing short of spectacular.
A fifth-round pick out of BYU in 2023, he quickly rose to become one of the league’s most exciting receivers, even earning a Pro Bowl nod in his first year.
Building a Strong Resume
In just 11 games last season, Nacua put up impressive numbers—990 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
His resilience and talent have made him a vital piece of the Rams’ offense, and Sunday’s determination to keep returning to the field only added to his reputation as a fighter.
Around the League
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the NFL, the San Francisco 49ers were forced to play without one of their own stars.
Tight end George Kittle was ruled out of the team’s clash against the Seattle Seahawks due to a hamstring issue, leaving the Niners without a key offensive weapon.
