Princess Ines Marie Lilian Silvia Makes Her First Public Appearance During King Carl XVI Gustaf’s Birthday Celebration in Stockholm

Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip’s newborn daughter, Princess Ines Marie Lilian Silvia, made her first public appearance at a very special event.

On April 30, 2025, the Swedish royal family gathered outside the Royal Palace in Stockholm to celebrate King Carl XVI Gustaf’s 79th birthday, with the newest member of the royal family joining the festivities.

Princess Ines, just a few months old, was cradled lovingly by her mother, Princess Sofia, as the family waved to the crowds.

Ines was dressed in a cream blanket, embroidered with delicate flowers and leaves, with her face hidden under a white bonnet.

It was a sweet, tender moment shared between the royal couple and their children, as they marked this significant day in the king’s life.

Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip’s Family Celebration

Princess Sofia, glowing with joy, looked elegant in a cream blazer while keeping her makeup natural and fresh.

Her husband, Prince Carl Philip, donned his naval regalia to honor his father, King Carl XVI Gustaf.

The couple’s two older sons, Prince Gabriel and Prince Julian, were also part of the celebration.

Dressed in matching beige coats, they were seen standing alongside their parents, beaming with pride at their baby sister.

The royal family came together in the Inner Courtyard of the Royal Palace, but there were notable absences.

While Crown Princess Victoria and her family were not present, her husband, Prince Daniel, and their children, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, joined the celebrations.

Additionally, Princess Madeleine, the king and queen’s youngest daughter, was not photographed with the family.

However, her husband Christopher O’Neill and their son, Prince Nicolas, were in attendance.

A New Addition to the Royal Line

Princess Ines was born on February 7, 2025, and has quickly captured the hearts of royal watchers.

As the eighth in line to the Swedish throne, she will grow up surrounded by the love of her older brothers, Prince Alexander, Prince Gabriel, and Prince Julian.

Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip shared their joy on social media shortly after her birth, posting photos of their “perfect quartet” for the world to see.

The adorable photos, which included one of Prince Julian giving his sister a sweet kiss on the forehead, received an outpouring of love and congratulations.

The couple expressed their gratitude in the post, saying, “It turned out to be a perfect little quartet.”

Their announcement was met with warm wishes from friends and fans alike, including Princess Beatrice’s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Royal Pregnancy Announcement and Title Changes

The royal couple first announced they were expecting a fourth child in September 2024, and fans were excited to welcome the new royal.

However, Princess Ines, despite being a beloved addition to the family, will not bear the HRH (His/Her Royal Highness) title.

This decision comes after a significant change made by King Carl XVI Gustaf in 2019, when he revealed that his grandchildren would no longer automatically hold the royal title.

The king’s decision was part of a larger effort to clarify who would represent Sweden officially in the future, and to give his grandchildren more freedom to shape their own futures.

While Princess Ines will grow up without the HRH title, she will continue to be a cherished member of the royal family, surrounded by the warmth and support of her parents and siblings.

Despite the title change, Princess Ines’ arrival has been a joyful occasion for the royal family and the Swedish public, marking the next chapter for Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip as they raise their growing family.
