Prince William Greets President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump with Humour During Royal Welcome at Windsor Castle

Prince William greeted President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump with his trademark charm and a touch of humour on Wednesday.

As the Trumps stepped off Marine One in the Walled Garden at Windsor, the Prince gestured toward his father, King Charles, and quipped, “This is my father,” sparking laughter all around.

A Warm Royal Welcome

The Trumps were escorted by the Prince and Princess of Wales through the Royal Kitchen Gardens at Frogmore to meet King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Charles shook hands warmly with President Trump, while Camilla, in a striking blue dress and matching hat, looked on with a smile.

Mr. Trump, 79, and the King, 76, shared a lively chat, with the President even resting a hand on Charles’s arm during their conversation.

Carriage Procession Adds Pageantry

The royal party continued with a carriage procession across the Windsor estate, creating a perfect blend of personal greeting and regal ceremony.

The King and President were seen deep in conversation, while the Queen and First Lady followed in the next carriage, clearly engaged in discussion themselves.

As the procession moved along, both the American and British national anthems played, providing a musical salute to the historic visit.

Windsor Castle Hosts Glittering Banquet

While the President’s schedule avoided public events amid expected protests, the evening brought a lavish state banquet at Windsor Castle, showcasing royal pomp and pageantry.

The King and President exchanged speeches while seated at the center of the grand table, but much of the attention fell on the leading ladies.

Princess of Wales and Queen Camilla Shine

Princess Kate stunned in a couture gown by British designer Phillipa Lepley, topped with a hand-embroidered gold Chantilly lace evening coat.

She accessorized with earrings belonging to the late Queen and her cherished Lover’s Knot tiara.

Queen Camilla complemented her husband beautifully, wearing a sapphire ensemble from tiara to dress.

Meanwhile, First Lady Melania Trump opted for a modern touch with a yellow off-the-shoulder gown paired with a purple belt.

King Charles Delivers Thoughtful Speech

In his address, King Charles toasted the “remarkable bond” between the UK and the US, highlighting shared history, cultural ties, and mutual commitment to democracy and liberty.

The King struck a balance between warmth, wit, and gravitas, touching on everything from support for Ukraine to the War of Independence.

He even referenced a 1970s media-fueled attempt by President Nixon to arrange a marriage with his daughter, joking that he might have ended up in the Nixon family.

President Trump Responds With Praise and Humour

President Trump, in turn, called the state visit “one of the highest honours of my life,” drawing laughter as he joked about being the only US president to receive two state visits.

He praised King Charles for raising “a remarkable son” in Prince William and commended his work with wounded veterans.

Trump also took a moment to celebrate the beauty of Britain and the warmth of the royal hosts, delivering a speech that blended admiration, humour, and off-script charm.
