Prince William and Princess Kate are gearing up to move their family from Adelaide Cottage to a new “forever home” later this year, according to insiders.

The move will include their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, as they settle into the eight-bedroom Forest Lodge property in Windsor Great Park.

Seeking a Fresh Start After Difficult Years

Sources suggest the family is hoping for a fresh start after challenging times at Adelaide Cottage, which included the passing of Queen Elizabeth and health scares affecting Kate and Prince Charles.

The move represents an opportunity to turn a page and leave behind some of the tougher memories of recent years.

A close source told The Sun: “Windsor has become their home.

However, over the last few years while they’ve lived at Adelaide Cottage, there have been some really difficult times.

Moving gives them an opportunity for a fresh start and a new chapter; an opportunity to leave some of the more unhappy memories behind.”

Renovations Underway at Forest Lodge

Renovations are reportedly already in progress at the Grade-II listed lodge to make it ready for the family before the year ends.

Planning applications indicate minor work has begun, with the couple funding the updates themselves.

The home promises spectacular views, including a clear sightline to the Wembley Arch—something football fan William will surely enjoy.

Kate has also been spotted selecting furniture for the new property, including a striking 24-seater table to accommodate family gatherings.

From Adelaide Cottage to a Larger Windsor Home

The family first moved to Windsor in 2022, settling at the modest Adelaide Cottage.

The relocation from London was believed to be motivated by a desire to be closer to the late Queen and to provide the children with a more ordinary life and greater privacy.

Interestingly, the family currently lives without live-in staff, a setup that is reportedly expected to continue in their new, larger home.

This move marks not just a change of address, but a step towards carving out a personal space where they can focus on family life and new beginnings.
