According to a friend of the Sussexes, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry did not achieve their desired outcome during their negotiations with the Royal Family.
Prince Harry recently confirmed that he will attend the Coronation alone, as Meghan Markle and their children will remain in California.
The source said that although the couple did not get what they wanted, Prince Harry still wanted to support King Charles, and his attendance was a personal decision.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s announcement put an end to speculation on whether they would both attend the landmark event.
Earlier, Prince William was said to be “baffled” by Prince Harry’s approach to their father’s Coronation.
According to a source, the Prince of Wales felt that his brother was deliberately delaying announcing his attendance.
William was confused as he believed that everyone thought Harry would attend the ceremony.
Relations between the brothers have been strained, and the Duke of Cambridge reportedly feels that Harry is “stringing it out to try and be difficult.”
The announcement of Prince Harry’s attendance was confirmed in a statement released by Buckingham Palace last week.
The Palace announced that the Duke of Sussex would attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6, while the Duchess of Sussex and their children would remain in California.
