A recent poll has revealed that when it comes to McDonald’s customers, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are nearly neck-and-neck in the 2024 election race.
According to an exclusive survey by J.L. Partners for DailyMail.com, 42% of McDonald’s diners backed each candidate.
The poll comes after Harris faced scrutiny over her claim of having worked at a McDonald’s in California, which added fuel to the campaign debate.
Trump, meanwhile, made headlines by visiting a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania and serving takeout bags to people in the drive-thru lane.
This stunt seemed to resonate with voters, although the McDonald’s poll itself showed a divided public opinion between the two contenders.
Trump Wins Pizza Hut, Jimmy John’s, and Chick-fil-A Support
The survey also highlighted Trump’s popularity with fast-food enthusiasts.
He dominated supporters of Pizza Hut, Jimmy John’s, and Chick-fil-A, securing double-digit victories—15 points with Pizza Hut fans, 19 points with Jimmy John’s fans, and 13 points with Chick-fil-A diners.
On the other hand, Harris managed to secure a slight win among Domino’s pizza fans, edging out Trump by three points.
Social Media Preferences Favor Trump
Social media platforms also played a role in this election dynamic. Users of the platform X (formerly Twitter) strongly favored Trump, with 55% of them supporting the former president compared to 36% for Harris.
Trump also gained significant support on Twitch and Snapchat, leading by 23 and 15 points, respectively.
However, his advantage was narrower on Facebook (3 points) and TikTok (3 points), while YouTube users were nearly split.
Harris managed to secure a small lead on Instagram, with a one-point advantage over Trump.
Trump Leads in Grocery Shopping Habits
An interesting breakdown of voters’ grocery shopping habits also revealed Trump’s dominance.
He led by 5 points among Whole Foods shoppers, who tend to lean towards organic and natural produce.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, Trump was also more popular among Dollar General customers, leading by 12 points.
Other grocery store chains showed Trump with an edge: 8 points ahead at Walmart and 5 points ahead at Costco.
However, Harris found favor with Aldi shoppers, leading by 7 points, and slightly outpaced Trump at Price Rite by 3 points.
Support Across Demographics
The poll also provided insights into demographic preferences.
Among smokers, Trump had a slight edge over Harris, garnering 43% of the vote compared to 39% for Harris.
Among vapers, Trump widened his lead with 49% support versus Harris’s 35%.
Vegetarians, however, sided with Harris by 4 points, while meat eaters supported Trump by 3 points.
The vegan demographic showed a more pronounced divide, with 45% backing Harris and only 19% supporting Trump.
As for fitness enthusiasts, those who focused on cardio exercises leaned slightly toward Harris (46%), while weightlifters showed stronger support for Trump (48%).
Breakdown by Sexual Orientation
The poll results also highlighted significant differences in support based on sexual orientation.
Harris dominated among gay voters, winning 63% of their support, while Trump secured just 24%.
Among bisexual voters, Harris led with 43%, compared to 27% for Trump.
The race was tighter among heterosexual voters, with Trump leading by a small margin of 45% to Harris’s 39%.
The data paints a complex picture of American political preferences, reflecting how consumer habits, social media engagement, and demographic factors are influencing the 2024 election.
