British investigators say the MAGA-aligned influencer and her boyfriend—linked to an alleged racially motivated confrontation in central London—aren’t in the country anymore.
Detectives confirmed that the pair, identified by the Daily Mail as Philip Ostermann and Melissa Rein Lively, quietly slipped out of the UK days before police circulated their appeal for information.
The Quiet Departure
According to officers, Ostermann, a senior figure at the Munich private-equity firm Aequita, flew out on October 14, while Rein Lively, a 40-year-old PR strategist with long-standing ties to Donald Trump’s political orbit, boarded her flight ten days later.
Rein Lively once angled for the role of White House spokesperson during Trump’s second term, ultimately losing out to Karoline Leavitt.
Investigators say they’re still attempting to reach both individuals and won’t decide their next steps until that happens.
The Incident That Sparked the Hunt
The case unfolded after a family reported being racially abused and attacked in central London on the evening of October 11.
The encounter started inside Bond Street station around 7:30pm, after a pushchair lightly knocked into a woman—later identified as Rein Lively—in a crowded area.
British Transport Police (BTP) shared that officers had chased several leads before going public.
The subsequent media appeal drew strong attention, but by then, the couple had already left the country.
A BTP spokesperson said the investigation is ongoing, adding that the victim’s family is receiving continuous updates.
What Witnesses Describe
The family involved—a woman, her sister, and two children—were said to be entering Bond Street station when the small collision occurred.
Witnesses claim Rein Lively reacted angrily, followed by Ostermann stepping forward and shouting abuse.
Things escalated when the man allegedly pulled out a tiny bottle he said was pepper spray and released it toward the family.
A Familiar Face in Controversy
Rein Lively is no stranger to headlines. She’s been vocal about adopting what she calls the “MAGA look”—platinum hair, cosmetic enhancements, and a carefully crafted image.
Back in 2020, she made international news for filming herself tearing up face mask displays during the height of the pandemic—a moment that had trolls dubbing her “Rolex Karen.”
More recently, she posted an Instagram photo standing outside Sotheby’s on Bond Street, wearing the same outfit seen in the police appeal.
The caption read, “With love from London.” That account has since disappeared.
A Corporate Detour
Ostermann, meanwhile, had been scheduled to appear at a private-equity conference at Syon Park near Heathrow on October 14—the same day he reportedly left the UK.
He was part of a panel focusing on financial resilience and cash-flow strategy.
Rein Lively’s Past With Conspiracy Culture
The influencer has also spoken openly about how she was drawn into the QAnon world.
During an interview on the Finding Q podcast, she described being “groomed” by the movement, saying the psychological fallout left her suicidal and at rock bottom.
She explained that the content she encountered was highly polished and convincing, describing the experience as cult-like:
“It destroyed me,” she said, recalling a psychiatric evaluation and a complete collapse of her worldview.
Where Things Stand Now
For the moment, the investigation continues without the two central figures on UK soil.
Police say they still intend to reach out to them directly before deciding how to proceed.
What happens next will likely depend on how—or if—the couple responds.
