Utah mother, Alaina Marie Adams, 33, is reported missing after she failed to board her Celebrity Solstice cruise in San Francisco. It is unclear whether she had already boarded the cruise from Los Angeles or was joining from San Francisco.
Police received a call from an unknown caller an hour after the cruise was scheduled to exit the harbor, reporting Adams missing. One surveillance picture was released by police showing Adams sitting down with a backpack strapped to the front of her body, but it is unknown where the photo was taken.
Her last location in the Bay Area city is unknown, and despite the suspicious circumstances, police said there is no evidence of foul play.
Adams appears to have at least one daughter, but it remains unclear whether she was with her at the time of her disappearance. The San Francisco Police Department has asked the public for assistance locating the missing mother.
Adams, who identifies herself as a resident of Midvale, Utah, was reportedly on a Celebrity Cruise ship with an overnight stop in the Bay Area. It is unclear who she was with at the time and who reported her missing.
The cruise was supposed to depart from Pier 27 at 5pm, but Adams never made it to the ship. Several family members and friends were also reached out to for comment.
Police wrote that there are no known imminent risk factors associated with Adams, and there is no evidence of foul play. Adams is described as 5’4″ tall, roughly 140 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, tattoos behind both ears and on her right foot.
The SFPD Special Victims/Missing Persons Unit is leading this investigation. Despite the details surrounding her disappearance being troubling, police say they do not believe there are imminent risks to her safety.
