Police arrest Virginia woman after deadly hit and run kills Netflix star Sara Burack in Hampton Bays

What was supposed to be a quiet summer night in the Hamptons turned into a scene of heartbreak and shock after a beloved Netflix reality star lost her life in a tragic hit-and-run.

Now, authorities believe they’ve found the person responsible.

Rising Reality Star and Realtor Killed in the Early Hours

Sara Burack, a 40-year-old luxury real estate broker who rose to national fame on Netflix’s Million Dollar Beach House, was fatally struck by a vehicle around 3 a.m. last weekend.

The incident happened along Montauk Highway, not far from the Villa Paul Restaurant in Hampton Bays, New York.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene and found Burack critically injured.

She was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she sadly passed away.

Driver Arrested After Multi-Agency Manhunt

After several days of investigation, 32-year-old Amanda Kempton of Virginia was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident that resulted in death—a felony under New York State law.

The Southampton Town Police Department, working closely with the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit, led the extensive search that eventually resulted in Kempton’s arrest.

She’s now facing a potential sentence of up to four years in prison if convicted.

Authorities Still Piecing Together What Happened

While Kempton has been taken into custody, authorities have not yet shared exactly how she became a suspect or what led them to her.

The investigation is still ongoing, and law enforcement officials are urging anyone with further information to step forward and contact Southampton Town Police.

Kempton is expected to be arraigned on Saturday, according to local news reports.

Remembering Sara Burack Beyond Reality TV

While many knew Sara Burack as a face from Netflix, her legacy goes far beyond reality television.

She was a licensed broker who worked in New York’s competitive luxury real estate market and was respected for her hustle, heart, and charm.

She was also known for her charitable efforts, having been involved in fundraising for leukemia research and working with animal rescue organizations.

Friends and Colleagues Pay Heartfelt Tribute

The news of her sudden passing has hit those close to her especially hard.

Paulette Corsair, a close family friend and fellow realtor, remembered Burack as someone with a generous spirit who was always thinking of others.

“She was an amazing person who really cared for people,” Corsair told Newsday.

“She was a hardworking real estate agent who was there for others.

She was loved greatly by her friends and a close family.”

A Loss Felt Across Entertainment and Real Estate Circles

In the wake of this tragedy, both the entertainment and real estate communities are mourning the loss of someone who touched many lives in her own quiet, meaningful way.

As the investigation continues, many are hoping that justice will be served—and that Sara’s memory will continue to live on through the lives she inspired and the causes she supported.
