Police Arrest Three in Ipswich After Tragic Death of Newborn Sparks Murder Investigation

In a tragic incident, Suffolk Police have arrested two men and a woman on suspicion of murder after the lifeless body of a newborn baby was discovered outside a property on Norwich Road in Ipswich.

The authorities responded to reports of the distressing find at 12.35pm on Saturday, and despite immediate efforts by paramedics, the baby was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances of the infant’s death are currently treated as unexplained and are under thorough investigation.

As part of the ongoing inquiry, two men and a woman have been apprehended on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident.

They remain in police custody, where they will be questioned regarding the tragic event.

A cordon has been established at the entrance to Wilbury House on Norwich Road as investigators conduct enquiries.

Saturday, a significant police presence, including a dog unit, was observed at the scene, as reported by local media.

Detective Chief Superintendent Jane Topping emphasized the sensitivity of the situation, stating, ‘This is a very sad and distressing incident, and, at this time, our investigation into the circumstances surrounding the baby’s death is in its early stages.’

In light of the ongoing investigation, she urged the public to refrain from speculating on social media about the details of this tragic event.
