Big changes are happening in Philadelphia’s coaching staff, as the Eagles have promoted Kevin Patullo to offensive coordinator.
This move comes after Kellen Moore stepped down following the team’s Super Bowl victory to take over as head coach of the New Orleans Saints.
A Key Figure in the Eagles’ Championship Run
Moore played a crucial role in guiding the Eagles to their 40-22 Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans.
His departure left big shoes to fill, but the organization didn’t have to look far for a replacement.
Patullo, who previously served as the team’s passing game coordinator and associate head coach, will now take on an even bigger role alongside head coach Nick Sirianni.
Filling the Coaching Gaps
With Patullo stepping up, the Eagles are expected to bring in Parks Frazier from the Miami Dolphins to fill the void left behind.
Frazier, who has been working as an offensive assistant in Miami, is set to join the staff and contribute to the team’s offensive strategy.
High Expectations for Patullo’s Leadership
Now in charge of the offense, Patullo has the responsibility of maximizing the talents of quarterback Jalen Hurts and running back Saquon Barkley—two of the league’s most dynamic playmakers.
Head coach Nick Sirianni spoke highly of Patullo’s influence and leadership, emphasizing how much he values his input.
“He’s been a huge part of our success,” Sirianni said.
“I don’t make a decision without asking Kevin first.
Whether it’s in-game strategy, scheduling, offensive planning, or game management, I lean on him a lot.”
Sirianni also praised Patullo’s deep understanding of the team’s system, saying, “Continuity is everything.
He knows how I think in crucial situations and understands exactly how we want things executed.
He’s been an invaluable resource, and I trust him completely.”
Jalen Hurts on Patullo’s Promotion
When asked last week about the possibility of Patullo becoming his offensive coordinator, Hurts kept his response measured.
“He’s had a different role, so it’s tough to compare,” Hurts said.
“This job will demand something completely different from him. But I have confidence in what he’s shown.”
While Hurts acknowledged the decision was beyond his control, it’s clear there’s mutual respect between him and Patullo.
With a strong foundation in place, the Eagles are banking on Patullo to keep their offense flying high as they set their sights on another championship run.
