Mamelodi Sundowns fans were recently abuzz with transfer speculation around their star striker, Peter Shalulile.
Rumors swirled about potential moves abroad, with clubs like Esperance de Tunis reportedly showing interest.
But now, Shalulile has broken his silence, giving fans an inside look at why the move never happened.
Transfer Talks Fell Through at the Last Minute
In a candid interview with Sundowns’ media team, Shalulile revealed that negotiations had been progressing, with paperwork and discussions underway.
“I won’t lie to you… I’m back, things didn’t go well.
We were discussing and negotiating, paperwork and all that,” he admitted.
Despite his initial desire to explore options away from Chloorkop, the Namibia international made the decision to stay at the last minute.
“I decided to call the Chairman and rather let me come back, add my experience and fight for my position,” Shalulile explained.
Shalulile’s Record-Breaking Form Continues
Returning to Sundowns hasn’t slowed him down. The striker recently shattered Siyabonga Nomvethe’s long-standing PSL goalscoring record and is off to a flying start this season with two more goals under his belt.
Shalulile’s commitment on the pitch shows he’s ready to make the most of his second chance at Sundowns.
