Peter Kay humiliates fan at Manchester AO Arena after comparing her to Lisa Riley and having her removed from the show

A comedy show is meant to be a place for laughter and joy, but for one fan, it turned into an upsetting experience.

Myar Curran, 25, was thrown out of Peter Kay’s live performance at the AO Arena in Manchester after shouting a message of support.

Now, she’s speaking out, accusing the comedian of humiliating her in front of thousands of people.

A Trip Meant to Be Special

Myar, a longtime fan of the Bolton-born comedian, had traveled all the way from Scotland to see him perform live for the first time.

The show was supposed to hold special meaning—her late mother had planned to attend with her before she passed away.

Instead, what should have been a heartwarming night with family and friends turned into an embarrassing ordeal.

Ejected for a Simple Shout

During Kay’s set on Saturday, Myar called out, “We love you, Peter!” expecting a lighthearted reaction. Instead, security escorted her out of the venue.

As she was being removed, Kay, 51, made a remark from the stage, comparing her to actress Lisa Riley.

This comment left Myar feeling humiliated, especially as the 23,000-strong crowd erupted into laughter.

“I was just shocked,” she told the Manchester Evening News.

“I didn’t expect to be singled out like that, especially in such a cruel way.”

A Joke That Felt Personal

While Kay later defended his comment, saying he didn’t see the comparison as an insult, Myar wasn’t convinced. “He knew exactly what he was doing,” she argued.

“If I was a bit skinnier, he wouldn’t have made that comparison.”

She admitted that she has struggled with her weight since becoming a mother and felt the comment was deliberately targeting her appearance.

“It just felt nasty, like he was turning the crowd against me. That’s not comedy—that’s bullying.”

An Emotional Aftermath

Back at her hotel, Myar broke down in tears, feeling humiliated by the experience.

“It was a rubbish situation,” she said. “My whole family was disgusted.”

She insisted that she had not been disruptive and was stunned to be ejected, especially after witnessing other audience members heckle with far more disruptive remarks.

No Longer a Fan

While Kay defended his actions, claiming hecklers were ruining the experience for others, Myar isn’t buying it.

She now says she has no interest in watching his shows again.

“I might have understood if I had been shouting insults, but I wasn’t. He didn’t need to make it personal.”

Despite her disappointment, Myar made it clear that she holds no ill feelings toward Lisa Riley, stating she wouldn’t want the actress to feel that she was offended by the comparison.

But as for Peter Kay? “I’ll never watch him again,” she said.
