Orlando Pirates, a South African football club, is reportedly preparing to release four players from their roster.
The names of these players have been made public, according to iDiski Times.
The players set to leave the Buccaneers are Ben Motshwari, Bienvenu Eva Nga, Siyabonga Mpontshane, and Kwame Peprah.
Mpontshane and Peprah’s Current Situations
Siyabonga Mpontshane, a goalkeeper for Orlando Pirates, has not featured in matches since October 29th.
In that game, he was beaten by a long-range shot from Yusuf Maart, resulting in a 1-0 loss to Chiefs.
On the other hand, Kwame Peprah is currently on loan at Maritzburg United.
He was deemed surplus to requirements by head coach Jose Riveiro, which led to his loan move.
Eva Nga and Motshwari’s Roles in the Team
Both Bienvenu Eva Nga and Ben Motshwari have primarily served as substitutes for Orlando Pirates throughout the season.
Head coach Jose Riveiro has given them cameo appearances, and they have had to settle for a place on the bench.
It seems that their limited playing time has resulted in their inclusion on the list of players set to exit the club.
Souaibou Marou’s Uncertain Future at Orlando Pirates
Orlando Pirates striker Souaibou Marou is facing an uncertain future at the club.
Since his arrival in January from Coton Sport in Cameroon, he has had a disappointing stint and has struggled to meet the high expectations placed on him.
According to a source, Marou’s lack of playing time is attributed to a language barrier, with efforts being made to help him learn English.
However, the technical team’s impatience may lead to his departure either on loan or permanently at the end of the season.
Orlando Pirates’ Offensive Options and Marou’s Limited Appearances
Currently, Orlando Pirates heavily rely on attackers such as Monnapule Saleng and Thembinkosi Lorch, with occasional contributions from Kermit Erasmus.
Marou, on the other hand, has made only four appearances for the team without scoring a goal.
As a result, the likelihood of Marou’s exit from the club is increasing.
