As Orlando Pirates gear up for the new Betway Premiership season, it’s not just player transfers making headlines—the technical team is also getting a serious facelift.
The latest addition to the coaching setup is none other than Lee Miles, who has officially joined the Buccaneers as their new fitness coach.
After a string of recent backroom changes, the club seems focused on building a support team that can match their ambitions on the pitch.
From Cape Town City to Soweto
Lee Miles arrives at Pirates following a solid run with Cape Town City FC, where he began his journey in June 2018.
Starting as a junior, he quickly rose through the ranks to become Head of Sport Science and Performance.
Now, after proving his worth at one of the league’s competitive sides, Miles is stepping into a new challenge in Soweto, joining a club with massive expectations and a passionate fan base.
Seen at Preseason and Ready for Action
Though the club has yet to make a formal announcement, Miles has already been spotted working with the team during preseason training sessions.
His presence marks another important piece in the technical puzzle as Pirates prepare for what promises to be a fiercely competitive campaign.
Miles replaces former fitness coach Carlos Nodar Paz, who exited the club alongside former head coach Jose Riveiro.
