Sadio Mane, the former Liverpool star now playing for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, recently opened up about his plans for the future with his wife, Aisha Tamba.
The couple, who tied the knot in a beautiful Islamic ceremony on January 7, 2024, in Keur Massar, a suburb of Dakar, has shared their hopes for family life together.
The Couple’s Story
Aisha, who was just 18 when she married Mane, met the Senegal international two years earlier through family connections.
Despite the noticeable age gap between the couple—Mane was 31 at the time of the wedding—their love story has been met with widespread support.
Aisha’s parents have expressed nothing but approval for their union, praising Mane as a “good person” from a “humble family.”
Family Plans: Three or Four Children?
A year into their marriage, Mane shared his thoughts on expanding their family.
In a lighthearted conversation with Senepeopleplus, he said, “If it’s just a choice, I would say 3 or 4.”
He emphasized, however, that the ultimate decision lies in God’s hands.
“I will thank Him no matter what,” Mane added.
When jokingly asked if he would consider having seven or eight children, the 32-year-old player laughed and said, “Maybe, you never know.”
Regardless of the number, he’s content with whatever comes, leaning towards having a smaller family, but open to whatever the future holds.
Aisha and Mane’s Journey
Reports suggest that Mane first met Aisha when she was only 16, though they did not start dating immediately.
Aisha’s father shared that the couple’s paths crossed during a visit to Mane’s family, where he was drawn to her and received his parents’ approval.
“He probably saw something special in her,” her father said, explaining that they followed tradition and took their time, waiting for Aisha to finish her studies before proceeding with the marriage.
Aisha’s Education and Future
Although she was still in school at the time of the engagement, Aisha had the full support of Mane, who is said to have funded her education at the Cabis school in Mbao.
She graduated with a respectable distinction, which was celebrated by both her husband and father.
Now that she has earned her baccalaureate, Aisha is considering furthering her education.
Shared Heritage and Values
Both Mane and Aisha hail from the Casamance region in southern Senegal, about 275 miles from Dakar.
Their shared heritage, language, and values have helped solidify their connection, with both belonging to the Sosse ethnic group.
This strong foundation seems to have set the stage for a promising future together.
What’s next for this couple? With their love story and future plans unfolding, only time will tell what comes next for Mane and Aisha.
