Just after 17:00 on Monday night, Emer-G-Med paramedics and numerous role players arrived at the site of a high-speed collision involving a minibus taxi and a light delivery truck at the intersection of Chris Hani Road and Victor Roads in the Avoca neighborhood north of Durban.

As soon as they arrived on the scene, scene commanders set up an on-site triage center and discovered that up to sixteen people had suffered injuries ranging from minor to serious.
