Even superstar athletes have to wait for their dream homes to be ready.
Simone Biles recently gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the custom-built Texas mansion she shares with husband Jonathan Owens, and it turns out the project is still a work in progress—over two years after construction began.
“Minor Aesthetic Adjustments” in Progress
Taking to Instagram, the Olympic gymnast shared updates on the home, describing the ongoing work as just “minor aesthetic adjustments.”
But the photos suggest a bit more than that: scaffolding is up in one room, and in another, a construction worker carefully navigates protective coverings laid across wooden floors.
Tweaks That Are More Than “Minor”
Biles couldn’t resist poking fun at the state of the entertainment room, snapping a picture of wires sticking out of the walls and floorboards covered in protective panels.
Despite the ongoing work, it’s clear the mansion is finally approaching completion.
Stylish Spaces Already Revealed
Fans have already seen glimpses of finished sections.
Biles has shown off a chic kitchen with black-and-white stone surfaces, as well as a bathroom with newly installed shower tiles.
It seems the couple’s vision for their luxurious Texas retreat is starting to come together.
A First Look Back in 2023
The couple first gave the public a sneak peek of the mansion back in September 2023.
While they’re likely eager to move in, the timeline suggests the home may not be fully ready before Owens begins his second NFL season with the Chicago Bears on September 8 against the Minnesota Vikings.
A Temporary Home in Chicago
Luckily, the sports power couple has another residence in Chicago.
In May, they shared on Instagram that they were shopping for a car for use in the Windy City.
Details about this property—whether rented or purchased—remain under wraps, but it serves as a convenient base until the Texas mansion is finished.
From Dating to a Dream Home
Biles and Owens started dating in 2020 and tied the knot in a lavish Houston wedding three years later.
Now, with construction slowly wrapping up, the couple is one step closer to settling into their long-awaited Texas dream home together.
