The elder sister of a teenage girl who was enticed and murdered in an unfinished building in Ogun state has given some facts about her sister’s last moments, as well as the alleged lover who lured her sister to the location where she was murdered.
Rofiat’s older sister, who was assassinated in Abeokuta, Ogun State, revealed she knew the lover who plotted to kill her sister with his pals. Soliu Majekodumi, her sister’s lover, was allegedly chased away from her sister a few months ago, according to her.
So she was shocked that her sister still went to the same guy.
In an interview with The Punch, Rofiat’ s sister whose name is given as Okeowo also recounted the last moments she spent with her sister before she was lured from their house to where she finally met her ultimately death.
She recalled that late Rofiat was asked by their mother to make beans for the family to eat for dinner.
After putting the pot of beans on the fire in the evening, the deceased took permission from her to go out while she (Okeowo) looked after the beans, to which she agreed.
However, she never returned home.
” When it was around 8: 30 pm, I called her number and asked if she was coming home tonight. She said she was already on her way and almost home.
So, I went to bed. Around 10: 00 pm, I called her, only to discover that her number was no longer reachable.
I asked her mother if she had seen her daughter, she said no. The following morning, I asked her mother again and she gave the same response.
It was later in the day that I heard that a lady was killed and beheaded in the community. I was suspicious at that moment since I had not seen Rofiat. ”
She said she later saw the viral video showing the suspects that were reported to have beheaded a lady. She recognized one of them to be the boyfriend of her sister.
This prompted her to carry a photo of the deceased sister to the Adatan Police Station where the Divisional Police Officer told them that she had been murdered by the boys.
She also said the family is yet to break the news to their mother because she is hypertensive. They are afraid she might also die from the shock.
” If we tell her now and she dies, that will leave us with two dead bodies, ” she said
On what she wants the government to do for her, she said, ” Government should ensure that her sister’ s death is avenged by killing the suspects too.
” Those that killed her should be killed as well. They should also be beheaded just as they did to her. “
