Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in collaboration with the Ministry of Health have agreed to make teachers available for successful administering of deworming drugs, towards eliminating prevailing Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD), across the 20 Local Government Areas of the State, as well as mobilise pupils and enlighten parents on the benefit of deworming.
The indication came to the fore during an Advocacy visit to the Education Ministry by NTD Department of the Ministry of Health, on how to eliminate emerging deadly diseases among the people.

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye assured the team that his Ministry would continue to partner with relevant stakeholders on issues that could better the lots of school children, to make them excel in their studies.
Speaking earlier, representatives of the Federal Ministry of Health, Mr. Gideon Uduak and Countdown Organisation, Dr. Akinola Oluwole, solicited for more support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, on capacity building for teachers in proper administering of deworming drugs in schools.
