Obaseki, Shaibu others pay last respects to late Madam Ayo Awo-Osagie

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, on Friday led government officials to pay their respect to late Madam Ayo Edna Awo-Osagie.

Madam Awo-Osagie is the mother of former Special Adviser to Governor Obaseki on Political Matters, Chief Osaro Idah and Majority Leader of Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), Henry Okhuarobo.

Other dignitaries at the event are Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Comr. Philip Shaibu; Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpor; former Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole; Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Charles Idahosa, and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Osaigbovo Iyoha.

Hailing the late Awo-Osagie for her contribution to the development of her community and the state, Obaseki said she lived a long, productive and influential life.

According to him, “She touched lives and affected our communities. To her last days, she was very active in bringing peace and promoting the progress of our society.”
