Oasis reunite to headline massive comeback concert as tens of thousands of fans flood Cardiff for historic night

Oasis

Oasis

You could feel it in the air—Cardiff was absolutely buzzing on Friday night.

After a 15-year wait, Oasis officially kicked off their long-awaited reunion tour, and the city transformed into a music lover’s paradise.

From die-hard superfans to casual listeners, thousands flooded the streets, heading toward Principality Stadium with one thing on their minds: witnessing a moment in British music history.

Danny Dyer and Celebs Join the Party

Among the 75,000 fans making their way to the stadium was none other than Danny Dyer, the EastEnders star and Oasis enthusiast.

The 47-year-old looked every bit the stylish fanboy in a navy jacket and shades, clearly soaking in the moment with a mate by his side.

He wasn’t alone—Rob Brydon was there with his family, and Vernon Kay was also spotted, though without wife Tess Daly.

Fans Flock from All Over the World

Oasis fans didn’t just come from around the UK—some made international pilgrimages.

Luciana Barba, 44, flew all the way from Argentina, spending close to £3,000 on the experience, including merchandise.

For her and many others, this wasn’t just a concert—it was a lifelong dream come true.

Emotional Stories from the Crowd

The emotion in the crowd was palpable.

Ten-year-old Alex Foley from Stroud, there with his dad Patrick, called it a “once-in-a-lifetime” experience.

Meanwhile, Jarreth, a Welsh superfan, ranked the day just below his wedding and the birth of his daughter, Lila, who’s named after an Oasis song.

His wife Holly said the build-up was even more intense than Taylor Swift’s Cardiff show.

Tribute Looks and Lookalikes Steal the Spotlight

The atmosphere outside the venue was as lively as inside.

Glen, a window cleaner from Essex, showed up as a Liam Gallagher lookalike, charging up to £1,000 for gigs.

Dressed to the nines in true Gallagher fashion, he was flooded with selfie requests.

“People genuinely think I’m Liam,” he laughed.

“This is going to be massive, supersonic even.”

Generations United by the Music

It wasn’t just the seasoned fans reliving their youth.

Teens like Jasmine and Josie, both 18, travelled seven hours from Newcastle for the big night.

“I said I wouldn’t die until Oasis got back together,” Jasmine joked.

“It’s the highlight of our lives, even if they fall out again after tonight!”

Others brought their families into the experience.

Kate, 44, wore shoes she bought when she was 16 to honour the band’s return.

“It makes me really emotional,” she said. “To be able to wear these now and see them—it’s like closing a beautiful circle.”

Surprise Tickets, Priceless Moments

Some fans had even kept their attendance a secret.

Autumn, 26, gifted her parents surprise tickets after making them queue online like everyone else.

“We’re superfans. Oasis is the reason I moved to Manchester,” she said, proudly wearing £200 worth of merch.

Flying Back for the Gig

For David Griffin, 56, a postman, the gig was so important he flew back early from Bosnia just to attend with his daughter, Chloe, 21.

“She’s heard Oasis playing in every room of our house for years,” he said.

Chloe added, “I honestly can’t believe I’m here.”

Their friend Richard Ellis, 55, joked about how things have changed since the 90s.

“We used to crowd surf… not sure our backs could take that now!”

International Love for Oasis and Cardiff

It wasn’t just the band that won hearts—Cardiff did too.

Antoine, Clement, and Alexandre, three friends from Paris, each spent over £1,300 to be part of the big night.

They even splurged on Oasis x Adidas tracksuits.

“We love the British people,” Clement said. “The energy here is pure Britain.”

A Night for the History Books

As Liam and Noel finally took the stage at 8pm, you could hear the roars echo through the city.

Fans know this might be fleeting, but for now, they’re not thinking about tomorrow.

They’re just grateful they got to be part of this historic first night.

“I never thought we’d see them back together,” said one fan.

“Even if it all ends again, we were here—front row for a piece of music history.”
