Nota Baloyi Accuses DA Leaders

Music executive Nota Baloyi has stirred up a storm with some bold and controversial statements about the Democratic Alliance (DA) leadership.

Known for his outspoken nature, Baloyi made the shocking remarks during his recent appearance on the 24-Hour Podcast, drawing both attention and backlash.

Controversial Remarks Spark Outrage

Baloyi didn’t hold back on the podcast, claiming that “almost all the DA guys are gay.”

He specifically mentioned several DA leaders, including Dean McPherson, the MEC of Public Works in KZN, and the Mayor of Cape Town, suggesting they were all gay.

He even joked that the party should be called “D-Gay.” His comments quickly stirred up a heated debate, with many finding his statements inappropriate and offensive.

In another part of the podcast, Baloyi made another contentious claim about DA leader John Steenhuisen, alleging that the party wanted him out because he wasn’t part of the LGBTQ+ group.

Baloyi’s comments have fueled further controversy and outrage.

Legal and Social Backlash

Not long after the podcast aired, Baloyi found himself facing serious criticism, including from the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC).

The SAHRC has launched an investigation into the racial slurs he made on the Hustle Corner Podcast, where he referred to white South Africans in derogatory terms.

These remarks have sparked complaints, prompting the commission to take action.

The SAHRC issued a statement confirming their awareness of the matter, explaining that they were assessing the situation.

They mentioned that the case could potentially lead to proceedings in the Equality Court under South Africa’s equality laws.

The commission also emphasized that while freedom of speech is a protected right, it is not unlimited.

Hate speech, along with any form of incitement to violence, is strictly prohibited by South Africa’s Constitution, and this includes statements made on podcasts.

Public Reaction and Ongoing Investigation

The public’s reaction to Baloyi’s comments has been a mix of outrage and disbelief, with many questioning the appropriateness of his statements.

As the investigation continues, the music executive’s comments are likely to remain a hot topic of debate in South Africa.
