The President of the African Development Bank Group, Akinwumi Adesina, has expressed concern that a lack of electricity is limiting the expansion of Nigerian companies. On Tuesday, October 26, at a conference organized by the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) in Abuja, Adesina stated that no firm in Nigeria can exist without generators.

He also claimed that Nigeria’s industry will always be uncompetitive unless it takes urgent action to address its energy shortfall and reliability.

The AfDB President said;  “Today, no business can survive in Nigeria without generators. Consequently, the abnormal has become normal.“Unless Nigeria decisively tackles its energy deficiency and reliability, its industries will always remain uncompetitive.”
