Nigerian Youth Team Star Akinkunmi Amoo Sentenced to One Year in Danish Prison for Sexual Assault

…By Larry John for TDPel Media. Akinkunmi Amoo, a former player of the Nigerian Golden Eaglets youth team, has encountered legal troubles in Denmark.

The player has recently received a one-year prison sentence from a Danish court for sexual assault.

According to Ekstra Bladet, Amoo faced charges of rape, attempted rape, and violations against two additional women.

The Danish authorities filed criminal charges against him multiple times, in April, July, and August of 2022.

The trial has been ongoing for the majority of June 2023.

Guilty Verdict and Consequences

Following the extensive legal proceedings, the Copenhagen District Court found Akinkunmi Amoo guilty on all three charges.

As a result, the 21-year-old footballer will serve a one-year prison sentence.

After completing his jail term, he will face deportation and be banned from entering Denmark for a period of six years.

Sporting Background

Akinkunmi Amoo had previously represented Nigeria as part of the Golden Eaglets team during the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup held in Brazil.
