Nick Kyrgios returns to the spotlight as TNT Sports recruits him for Wimbledon finals coverage alongside Dan Evans

Even though he’s been off the court lately, Nick Kyrgios is still managing to make headlines at Wimbledon—but this time, with a microphone instead of a racket.

TNT Sports Brings Kyrgios On Board for Finals Coverage

In a surprising twist, TNT Sports has signed up Kyrgios to help cover this weekend’s men’s and women’s singles finals.

While fans may remember the backlash that followed his involvement in the BBC’s coverage last year, that hasn’t stopped TNT from giving him another shot in the commentary booth.

BBC Said No, But TNT Said Yes

The BBC had originally included Kyrgios in their Wimbledon pundit lineup last year, but after a wave of criticism—largely due to his past legal troubles—he was dropped from their plans this time around.

However, since TNT also holds the rights to broadcast the finals (thanks to its merger with Eurosport), they’ve decided to take a different approach and bring the outspoken Aussie back on air.

A New Team with Dan Evans and a Different Vibe

Kyrgios won’t be going solo—former British No. 1 Dan Evans is also joining him for TNT’s finals commentary.

While some have raised concerns that TNT’s growing presence at Wimbledon could challenge the BBC’s long-standing coverage dominance, insiders insist that TNT isn’t trying to start a turf war.

Instead, they just want to offer viewers something fresh—and with Kyrgios behind the mic, “fresh” might be putting it lightly.

Controversy Still Follows Kyrgios

It’s hard to talk about Kyrgios without addressing the elephant in the room.

His appearance on the BBC panel last year came not long after he publicly admitted to assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Chiara Passari.

While he avoided a criminal conviction, the backlash from viewers and even politicians was loud and immediate.

No Tennis Action, But Still in the Spotlight

Kyrgios hasn’t competed at Wimbledon in three years due to persistent knee and wrist issues.

Fans last saw him on Centre Court in 2022, when he made it all the way to the final before losing to Novak Djokovic.

Despite being off the court, he’s kept himself visible—just not always for the right reasons.

Skipped by ESPN but Picked Up by TNT

Interestingly, ESPN also passed on including Kyrgios in their Wimbledon team, despite having used him as a pundit during the Australian Open earlier this year.

It seems TNT is willing to take the risk where others hesitated.
