Daniel Horsfall, the client’s longtime representative, stated that media speculation surrounding his client’s health should be put to rest.
Horsfall emphasized that there is “no doubt” Nick Kyrgios will be able to compete at the Australian Open.
Horsfall told The Age, “We are very thrilled and working every day to ensure we are ready for the Australian Open.”
“Many people were disappointed when he withdrew from the United Cup, but I hope they now see the injury is legitimate. I wish more people would inquire before offering their opinions.”
Organisers of the Adelaide International revealed that Kyrgios would not be competing in South Australia this year.
Alistair MacDonald, the tournament director for the Adelaide International, stated, “The event is obviously unhappy in this decision, as are his fans, but injuries happen and health is always the top consideration.”
“The Adelaide International wishes Nick Kyrgios good luck and a speedy recovery, recognizing the significance of his preparation for the Australian Open.”
Kyrgios has been given several options for his preparation for the Australian Open.
Organisers of the Kooyong Classic exhibition in Melbourne have offered Kyrgios a berth on their schedule.

The Australian Open will be the first event since the 2022 Wimbledon Championships to include both Djokovic and Kyrgios.
Kyrgios will also defend the Australian Open doubles championships with Thanasi Kokkinakis.
The draw for the Australian Open will take place the following week, while the main draw will begin on January 16, 2023.
