Nick Cannon, a father of 12, isn’t ready to stop growing his family just yet.
Despite already having a large brood, the American comedian and entertainer has expressed that he’s open to welcoming even more children.
Vasectomy is Not on the Table for Now
While some might think that a vasectomy would be the logical step given his sizable family, Cannon has other plans.
During a podcast conversation with Ryan Clark and Channing Crowder, both of whom have had vasectomies, Cannon revealed that he’s not planning to take that route.
“I’m just — I’m not done,” he said, with a chuckle. “I leave it to the Lord.”
Though he acknowledged that getting “snipped” might be considered the responsible thing to do, Cannon made it clear he’s not ready to take that step just yet.
It’s a decision he’s leaving up to fate and his faith.
Cannon’s Growing Family Over the Years
At 42, Cannon has created a family that could rival a small school.
His first children, twins Moroccan and Monroe, were born in 2011 with his ex-wife, pop star Mariah Carey.
Since then, he’s added 10 more kids to his family with five different women.
His children include Golden Sagon, Powerful Queen, and Rise Messiah, with Brittany Bell.
He also shares Zion Mixolydian, Zillion Heir, and Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby De La Rosa.
Additionally, there’s Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi, Onyx Ice with LaNisha Cole, and Halo Marie with Alyssa Scott.
However, not everything has been joyous—Cannon tragically lost his son Zen in 2021 to brain cancer, just five months after he was born.
Is Cannon Done Having Kids?
When asked if he plans on having more children, whether with one of his current partners or someone new, Cannon remained non-committal.
“I don’t know! That’s the thing,” he said with a shrug. “Why not?”
His approach to family seems more about faith than planning. “I leave it to the Lord,” he reiterated.
For Cannon, expanding his family isn’t about following a blueprint but rather following where life takes him.
Praise and Criticism for Cannon’s Parenting Approach
Cannon’s unconventional approach to fatherhood has drawn mixed reactions.
Some admire his dedication to being involved in his children’s lives, despite his busy schedule as the host of The Masked Singer and other ventures.
However, others wonder how he manages his time and resources among so many kids.
Cannon himself has addressed this challenge by saying, “It’s not about time management; it’s energy management.”
For him, family comes first, and he embraces both the rewards and challenges of fatherhood.
A Large Family and His Financial Support
Coming from a large family himself, Cannon has always been passionate about having kids and raising them in a supportive environment.
His wealth certainly allows him to provide for his growing family.
However, it’s clear that raising 12 kids would be a significant financial burden anywhere, including South Africa.
Nick Cannon’s Fatherhood Journey
For now, Cannon is focusing on enjoying the moment and taking each day as it comes.
Whether he reaches his self-declared goal of having “a baker’s dozen” remains to be seen.
One thing is certain: Nick Cannon is setting his own rules when it comes to modern parenting, one baby at a time.
