News Update: PDP Remains Party To Beat In Ika North East, Aniagwu

Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu, says that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) remains the only party to beat in Ika North East Local Government Area of the state.

Mr Aniagwu made the assertion during the inauguration of a 35 man election campaign Committee of the party, ahead of the forthcoming local government election in the state by the Chairman of PDP in the area, Honourable Chukwudi Agborma, at the party secretariat in Boji Boji Owa.

According to him, “this election is not for the candidates but for our great party. We must do it right, because the out come of this election will determine our lots in 2023.”

” For us to succeed, we must put our past behind us and work together. As we progress as a party, it will get to everyone’s turn to be elected or given an appointment,” he added.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of PDP in Ika North East, Honourable Agborma, while formally introducing the party flag bearers for the various position for the March 6, 2021 local government election in the state, urge all the party faithfuls to ensure victory for the party in the election.

He commended the leaders of the various wards in the area for their tireless efforts at advancing the goals of the party, adding that they should endeavour to meet up with other party obligations.

On his part, the immediate past Chairman of the local government in the area, and People’s Democratic Party Chairmanship candidate for the election, Honourable Victor Ebonka, expressed gratitude to the party and leaders for the confidence reposed on him and other candidates of the party for the upcoming election in the area.

” We do not have any doubt on the integrity of the election campaign committee. We believe that at the end of the day, we will emerge victorious” he stated.

Highlight of the event was the observation of a moment of silence in honor of Late Pa Arthur Okowa.
