Delta state
The Delta State government has revealed that it has concluded plans to concession the Airport to the private sector so as to ensure efficiency in service delivery and professional management.
The state Information Commissioner, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, made this revelation today while playing host to the Executve members of The African Child foundation International NGO, who paid him a visit in his office in Asaba.
The commissioner revealed that this was in line with the state government’s desire to encourage private sector participation in the affairs of government.
While applauding the NGO for their efforts in ensuring that children of today take their place as leaders of tomorrow, the Commissioner stated that their activities go a long way in helping the society at large in reducing crime and also addressing the issues of parental deficit.
The commissioner urged them to continue with the good work and see their reward in the light of the better society that they are working to ensure.
Speaking further Aniagwu assured the NGO of the Ministry’s continous support and collaboration as their activities is ‘for the interest of the general public’.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the group, Mr Donald Onosakponoma lauded the Okowa led administration for ensuring that the state has the lowest number of out of school children in the country as well as the impressive management of the COVID- 19 pandemic.
Mr Donald also applauded the Commissioner for his hardwork and efficiency in bridging the information gap between the Governornment and the people adding that Aniagwu has being outstanding and also a role model for the coming generation.
Speaking further, he solicited for the continued support of the Ministry of Information in partnering with the group in the promotion of role modeling and mentorship programs,stating thet no society can develop and advance without role models to look up to.
