Netflix has confirmed that the Murderville Christmas special will return.
Will Arnett will play Detective Terry Seattle in a new episode of the murder mystery comedy premiering on the streaming service on December 15. Celebrity guests Jason Bateman and Maya Rudolph are featured.
Bateman co-starred with Arnett in Arrested Development, and he also co-hosts the podcast “SmartLess” with Arnett and Sean Hayes. Rudolph and Arnett co-starred in the NBC sitcom Up All Night.
According to the official synopsis of the program, “Senior Detective Terry Seattle is back, and the case is crucial this time.” Along with Jason Bateman and Maya Rudolph, he is on a mission to determine…who killed Santa Claus? The hitch is that Jason Bateman and Maya Rudolph will not see the script. They are unaware of what is going to occur. They will have to improvise their way through the case with Terry Seattle (and many surprises)… However, it will be up to both of them to identify the murderer.”

Krister Johnson serves as the showrunner, writer, and executive producer, while Owen Burke, Marina Cockenberg, and Kerry O’Neill all contribute to the writing staff. Laura Murphy directs.
Alongside Marc Forman, Jonathan Stern, Peter Principato, and Brian Steinberg, Arnett serves as executive producer. Sony Pictures Television, Electric Avenue, Abominable Pictures, and Artists First produce.
