NAU Awka Holds Orientation Programme For Students Of Continuing Education Programme

Students under the Continuing Education Programme of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka have been advised to keep to the academic regulations and guidelines and also make the right choice of attitude in order to be successful in their academic pursuits.

The Director of the Continuing Education Programme, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Professor Ngozi Agu gave the advice during the orientation of new Continuing Education Programme students.

Correspondent Valentine Mbadugha reports that while  speaking during the orientation which attracted thousands of new Continuing Education Programme students and other critical stakeholders of the institution, Professor Agu who noted that there is always a big choice of attitude in such environment advised the newly admitted students to choose righteousness over sin, success over failure, peace over tribulation and obedience over rebellion.

While wishing them a successful academic journey, Professor Agu announced a one year reduction from the number of years they are expected to spend in school as they are the pioneer set that will begin to undergo a five year programme that used to be for six years for Arts and Humanities and a six years programme in place of seven years for Sciences, all things being equal.

Dr Loyce Onyalu, the Chairman University Dress Code Committee while taking the audience on the proper dress code of the institution noted that indecent attires that reveals body anatomy and weird hairstyles contradicts the norms and values of the University.

The Deputy Director One, Chike Okoli Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Dr Ugochukwu Okonkwo and the Director, Unizik Centre for Environmental Conservation and Beautification, Professor Chinedu Okoye also gave lectures on importance of Entrepreneurship and Hygiene respectively.

The Vice Chancellor of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Professor Charles Esimone was represented by the Director of Academic Planning, Professor Harris Odumegwu at the orientation which featured series of lectures centered on the best practices for the desired academic results.
