In the exclusive, tight-knit community of Nantucket, where tradition and loyalty run deep, the arrival of a new face has stirred up quite the social storm.
Jordon Hudson, the 24-year-old girlfriend of legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick, is facing icy resistance from the island’s elite—and not everyone is staying quiet about it.
Loyalty Runs Deep for Linda Holliday
Many long-time residents have made it clear: they’re standing by Linda Holliday, Belichick’s ex-partner of 16 years.
Even though their split happened back in September 2023, Holliday remains a beloved figure in Nantucket’s social and charitable circles.
Now that Belichick has moved on with Hudson—whom he reportedly met on a flight in 2021—the island has turned chilly toward the new couple.
Page Six reported earlier this week that Hudson has been making efforts to integrate into the social and philanthropic fabric of the island.
But her attempts have largely been brushed off—particularly by those who remain close to Holliday.
Some Locals Cry Foul: “They’re Being Hypocrites”
Despite the prevailing cold shoulder, not everyone agrees with the social snubbing.
One outspoken resident told People that many of Hudson’s critics are being completely hypocritical.
“They act like they don’t know what’s going on with Bill and Jordon, but they’re talking crap behind her back,” the local said.
“A lot of these people have either been in Linda’s shoes or done what Jordon’s done. They’re not better, just acting like they are.”
Another resident suggested Hudson might eventually be accepted, depending on Belichick’s ongoing influence in the area.
But a third source was blunt: “This is a secluded, selective place. People here want to be around their own kind.
That doesn’t include Jordon Hudson—especially not if they’re friends with Linda.”
Charity Circles Aren’t So Charitable to Hudson
Hudson’s efforts to join Nantucket’s philanthropic elite haven’t been successful—and that’s no accident.
As one insider put it, “She’s trying to make her way in, but that’s Linda’s territory.”
And it’s a territory that residents are fiercely protective of.
“There’s a very specific clique here,” the source continued.
“They’re into a few key charities, they stick together, and they’re not going to open their arms to someone who doesn’t fit. People find her off-putting.
She’s young, and honestly, there are still questions about when exactly she entered the picture with Bill.”
The Christmas Party Confrontation That Made Things Worse
Things escalated further during Nantucket’s Christmas Stroll event in December.
Hudson attended a high-profile holiday party headlined by Holliday’s twin daughters, Ashley and Kat Hess, who were DJing the event.
According to an incident report filed by venue staff, Holliday was furious Hudson showed up.
Witnesses claim that Holliday, along with author Elin Hilderbrand and another friend, confronted Hudson on the dance floor in a visibly aggressive manner.
Staff intervened before things got out of hand, but tensions were high.
Hudson defended her presence, telling staff it was her first time attending the Christmas Stroll and that she just wanted to have fun with a friend—who happened to be Miss Massachusetts 2023, Melissa Sapini.
Before leaving the party, Hudson reportedly told the staff that Holliday had threatened Sapini, warning her that if she “valued her current title,” she should reconsider her friendships.
Sapini was said to be tearful after the encounter.
Belichick’s Family Drama and the Shadow of Inheritance
Criticism of Hudson hasn’t stopped at social circles.
NFL insiders and commentators have also chimed in, raising eyebrows about the couple’s 49-year age gap and her apparent influence over Belichick, who is now the head coach of the UNC Tar Heels.
Sports radio host Colin Cowherd recently suggested the real issue may come down to money.
“Nobody’s worried about Bill being old and clueless,” he said.
“They’re worried about who’s getting written out of the will.
When dad’s worth over $100 million, people start asking questions.”
Though Belichick’s net worth is estimated at $70 million, Hudson is no slouch herself—reportedly having built a $9 million real estate portfolio.
Hudson Owns the Age Gap—But Not Everyone’s Convinced
Despite the storm of criticism, Hudson isn’t hiding.
In fact, she seems to be leaning into the controversy.
Her latest Instagram post featured a romantic waterfront dinner with Belichick, where they shared chicken wings seasoned with Old Bay.
The caption? A cheeky nod to their age difference: “Old Bay with my old bae.”
Still, the pushback from fans, insiders, and Nantucket locals shows no sign of fading.
Whether Hudson can find acceptance in one of the country’s most exclusive enclaves—or whether Belichick’s influence can help her get there—remains to be seen.
But for now, it’s clear that on Nantucket, loyalty and legacy still rule the social scene.
