The Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola has charged the President and other Executive Members of the Lagos State Public Service Club, who will oversee the affairs of the club for the next two years, to ensure that they portray themselves as good ambassadors of the State Public Service.
Speaking at the inauguration of the new executive members of the club, held at the Conference Room, Public Service Office on Tuesday, Muri-Okunola noted that some of the executive members were returned due to good performance while in office and charged them to guide the new members among them appropriately.
The HoS, who was represented at the inauguration ceremony by the Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Mr. Samson Ajibade, stated that leadership is about commitment, advising the new executive members to uplift the club by demonstrating accountability and efficient leadership; entrenching equity and justice amongst the members of the club.
He maintained that, being ambassadors of the Lagos State Government, they should ensure that they do their very best and add value as their legacy, adding that they should not be found wanting in the delivery of their respective legitimate responsibilities as public servants.
Responding on behalf other executive members, the President of the Club, Mr. Olufemi Ajenifuja thanked the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his steadfastness in ensuring that the Lagos State Public Service Club regains its past glory, stressing that he was overwhelmed with all the support rendered by the present administration to the club.
Ajenifuja assured the Lagos State Government that the new executive members will improve on the legacies and shall never be found wanting in discharging their assigned official duties at their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
“Sir, we pledge to reciprocate the confidence you have reposed in us and promise to deliver optimally and see to the development of the club”, he promised.
The newly inaugurated executive members of the club are Mr. Samson Olufemi Ajenifuja (President); Barr. Oluranti Oduntan (Vice President); Mr. Idowu Adegbemile (General Secretary); Mr. Rilwan Bakare (Treasurer); Mr. Akanni Lambo (Assistant General Secretary); Mr. Felix Arauwou (Social Secretary) and Mr. Basheer Gafar (Financial Secretary).
Others include Mrs. Abiiba Ibironke (Auditor); Mr. Adekola Akingbade (Publicity Secretary); Miss. Ibiwunmi Emmanuel (Sports Secretary) Mr. Moshood Shittu (Ex. Officio1) and TPL. Ibrahim Anifowoshe (Ex. Officio II).
