Love, Michael Oliver

The new track by Mr. Eazi, a well-known Nigerian musician, is not only a melodic delight, but also the title for his debut solo album, a long-awaited endeavor that has taken ten years to finish. The song, titled “Advice,” is the third single from his upcoming album, which has been renamed “The Evil genius” and is scheduled for release on October 27, 2023.

M.O.G. Beatz, a musician from Ghana, brings “Advice” to life with his skillful production. This work exemplifies Mr. Eazi’s propensity to delve into the deeper, more introspective parts of his life and experiences. As a direct result of his tremendous success, Mr. Eazi had to deal with the breakdown of some of his longest-standing relationships at a particularly trying time.

As Mr. Eazi candidly admits, there is often a period of adulation and unwavering support at the beginning of an artist’s career, followed by a challenging transition during which close friends and family may try to derail your success. He calls this time of betrayal and hardship “the hardest stage” of an artist’s development.

Lyrically complex and replete with allusions to African martyrs like Ken Saro-Wiwa, a prominent Nigerian writer and activist whose 1995 execution drew widespread domestic and international condemnation, and Joseph Kabila, the ex-president of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, “Advice” is an anthem for the continent’s oppressed.
