The mother of Libby Squire has been left devastated after her daughter’s killer, Pawel Relowicz, broke his promise to meet with her. The 28-year-old, who was sentenced to life in prison for raping and murdering the 21-year-old student in 2019, claims that he objects to Lisa Squire portraying him as a “bad person” in the media.
Lisa had been desperate to know the details of her daughter’s final moments from Relowicz, but his agreement to meet with her has been exposed as a cruel hoax after he linked it to a series of ludicrous demands.
The killer had initially agreed to the meeting but has now changed his mind and only agreed to see Lisa if they don’t talk about Libby and demanded a list of her questions.
Lisa is determined to find out what happened to her daughter on the night she died, including the most painful details, such as whether Libby was chatty or sleepy when she got into Pawel’s car and how she ended up in the river.
She said: “He wasn’t happy with me talking about him in the press before. He said it made him out to be a bad person. My hope was that we could meet a few times and he would tell me over time.
But then he just shut down saying he was going to appeal – which he hasn’t. I want my children and my grandchildren to know I did everything I could to find out what happened to Libby.”
Lisa Squire, who lives in High Wycombe, Bucks, added: “I just want to talk to the person who was last with my daughter. I have so many questions. Was she chatty when he got her into his car? Or was she sleepy?
I want to ask him, did you roll her in the river, kick her in, did she go in head or feet first? Nothing he can tell me can be worse than what goes on in my imagination.”
