A business mogul in Anambra state, Chief Michael Okafor-Nwofia has called on Federal government to urgently tackle the deplorable conditions of federal roads in the South East region of the Country.
Chief Nwofia an indigene of Iyiora Anam, Anambra West Local Government Area who made the call while speaking to News men in Awka, regretted that virtually all the federal roads in the South East region have become a death trap and impassable.
The business mogul who is equally a transporter, said that transporters, have lost fortunes plying the bad roads in the South East, especially those in Anambra state due to frequent breakdown of their vehicles and unwarranted loss of lives associated with it.
The Community leader maintained that if nothing is done urgently in all the affected roads in the region, it may have a bad effect on the socio-economic development of the zone.
Chief Nwofia commended Governor Willie Obiano for the ongoing palliative work being carried out by the Anambra state government at the Amansea axis of the Enugu Onitsha express road, Awka.
