Chelsea fans were in for a rollercoaster on Monday night after Moises Caicedo’s social media post set off a flurry of speculation.
The Ecuadorian midfielder took to Instagram to announce he had parted ways with his agent, Manuel Sierra of Football Division Worldwide, while clarifying he was not represented by Ali Barat of Epic Sports Football.
The post, featuring a celebratory photo of Caicedo, read: “The contract ended on August 14, 2025, and the player has now appointed people that he can trust.”
But just as quickly as it appeared, it vanished. Chelsea supporters immediately shared screenshots, sparking discussions about who would now handle the 23-year-old’s affairs.
Clarifying the Agent Situation
Following the initial post, a revised statement appeared on Caicedo’s Instagram, omitting the line about “a new trusted person” and simply confirming that his previous contract had ended.
However, that version also disappeared within minutes.
Confidential sources reveal that family members, alongside a lawyer, will now advise Caicedo.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are reportedly unconcerned by the public split; Caicedo remains under contract until 2031 with an option for an extra year and is said to be happy at Stamford Bridge.
Rising Star Reggie Walsh to Sign Professional Contract
In more positive news, 17-year-old Reggie Walsh is set to sign his first professional contract with Chelsea next week.
The technically gifted midfielder has already made three senior appearances under head coach Enzo Maresca, including becoming Chelsea’s youngest-ever starter in European competition at just 16 years and 200 days.
Maresca is reportedly a big fan of Walsh, who is described as mature and determined, and the club is eager to secure his talent early.
While the official announcement is pending, the contract will likely run for the maximum three years allowed for a player of his age.
Chelsea Strengthens Scouting with New Goalkeeper Recruit
Chelsea have hired Gary Woods as their new national goalkeeper scout.
Previously at Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton as a player-coach, Woods, 35, holds a degree in sports directorship.
He will focus on scouting players from Under-12 to Under-21 levels.
The Blues are satisfied with their current senior goalkeeper options, Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen, and have no immediate plans to pursue a high-profile goalkeeper transfer.
Teen Sensations Prepare for First-Team Action
16-year-old winger Ryan Kavuma-McQueen has spent the international break training with Chelsea’s first-team squad not on duty with their national teams.
Kavuma-McQueen made headlines for scoring four times in England’s Under-17 win against Germany last month.
Like Walsh, he is accustomed to competing with older players, having impressed with Chelsea’s Under-21s.
Meanwhile, left-back Denner, who will officially join Chelsea next year, is being carefully monitored while recovering from knee surgery in Brazil.
Injury Updates and Squad News
Reece James is approaching his 200th appearance for Chelsea but skipped the international break as a precaution due to a hamstring issue.
Enzo Maresca will provide updates on James’ and Enzo Fernandez’s fitness ahead of Saturday’s trip to Nottingham Forest.
Marc Guiu and Loan Restrictions
Marc Guiu’s recent appearance for Chelsea against Liverpool means that, under football regulations, Sunderland will be the only club he can join on loan this season.
With Liam Delap’s return from injury expected by the festive period, Guiu’s first-team opportunities may remain limited despite Chelsea’s planned squad rotation.
Maresca to Oversee Forest Despite Touchline Ban
Although Enzo Maresca will serve his touchline ban at City Ground after his red card against Liverpool, he retains significant influence over the game.
FA rules allow him to communicate with staff via telephone or radio, enter the changing rooms before and after each half, and handle pre- and post-match media duties.
Chelsea are preparing as if facing Ange Postecoglou’s team, against whom they boast a perfect record: four wins in four games, scoring 11 goals and conceding just four.
