Miranda Kerr confirms Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry end their engagement peacefully as the family celebrates daughter Daisy’s birthday in Los Angeles

When celebrity couples part ways, it usually sparks endless speculation.

But Miranda Kerr, who shares a son with Orlando Bloom, has stepped in to set the record straight on his recent split from Katy Perry.

And according to her, it’s all far more harmonious than the headlines might suggest.

A Calm Confirmation

Appearing on KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O Show on Thursday, Miranda confirmed what had already been reported — Orlando and Katy’s nine-year relationship has come to an end.

But she made it clear that the breakup was mutual and amicable.

“Yes, and I actually just saw them both on the weekend,” Miranda shared, explaining that they had all gathered together to celebrate little Daisy’s fourth birthday.

“We’re one big, happy family. Katy is amazing, I love her. And Orlando obviously.”

Keeping Family First

Miranda, who co-parents her 14-year-old son Flynn with Orlando, stressed the importance of keeping things peaceful after a separation.

“If you do have animosity, it only hurts yourself,” she said, highlighting how essential it is for children’s wellbeing that parents remain on good terms.

That approach seems to be working.

Despite ending their engagement, Orlando and Katy are still showing up for their daughter Daisy together and keeping the environment loving and supportive.

What Led to the Split

News of the separation broke in June, with insiders insisting the breakup wasn’t contentious.

A source told Us Weekly at the time, “Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable.”

While Katy was understandably upset, she was reportedly relieved not to face another divorce, which she once described as one of the hardest times in her life.

Signs of distance had already appeared. The couple were said to be living apart since April, when Katy’s Lifetimes Tour kicked off.

Just days before the breakup was made public, reports surfaced that they had rented out their $30 million Montecito mansion to fellow Hollywood couple Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger.

A Look Back at Their Love Story

Katy and Orlando’s romance has been a rollercoaster.

They first sparked dating rumors in 2016 after being spotted together at a Golden Globes afterparty.

The relationship had its ups and downs — including a split in 2017 — but they reunited and reignited their love the following year.

Valentine’s Day 2019 brought a glamorous engagement, complete with a stunning 4-carat diamond ring valued at around $5 million. In 2020, they welcomed Daisy, Katy’s first child and Orlando’s second, joining his son Flynn from his marriage to Miranda Kerr.

The pair even worked together in 2021, starring in the short film Transmissions From The Future, where they portrayed elder citizens sending warnings about democracy to the past.

Moving Forward

While their love story has ended, both Katy and Orlando are choosing to keep things positive for Daisy.

And with Miranda’s warm words confirming there’s no drama behind the scenes, it seems this Hollywood breakup might be one of the rare ones where everyone walks away still connected as family.
