At just 21 years old, Millie Bobby Brown is stepping into one of the biggest roles of her life — motherhood.
The Stranger Things star and her husband Jake Bongiovi have adopted a baby girl, marking a milestone moment that blends her Hollywood career with her long-time dream of starting a family.
The couple announced their joyful news on Instagram, writing:
“This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption.
We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.
And then there were three. Love, Millie and Jake Bongiovi.”
Leaving Hollywood for a Slower Pace
While her name is still a fixture in the entertainment industry, Millie has never been one to chase the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.
Instead, she and Jake have built a quieter life on a farm in rural Georgia, where they also run an animal rescue.
The actress often gives fans a peek at her countryside lifestyle on Instagram, posting snaps with the animals she helps care for — donkeys, goats, horses, and sheep among them.
She admits it’s not about projecting an aesthetic or joining the “trad wife” trend online, but about genuinely loving the work.
“I’m not doing it for the aesthetic,” she told Vanity Fair.
“If you’re not picking up horse s**t or washing a cow with your bare hands, then that life is not made for you. At all.”
Rooted in Her British Upbringing
Though she now calls America home, Millie still feels strongly connected to her British roots.
Born in Marbella and raised in Bournemouth before her family moved to Orlando at the age of eight, she credits her upbringing for shaping her grounded outlook.
Whenever she’s back in the UK, Millie has even built surprising friendships — including one with former TOWIE star and broadcaster Mark Wright, along with his sisters Jess and Natalya.
An Unlikely Friendship in Essex
That connection began back in 2017, when Millie introduced herself to Mark while doing press for Stranger Things in Los Angeles.
The two discovered they were fans of each other’s work, and before long, their families had bonded.
Since then, Millie has joined the Wrights for dinners, family vacations, and even visits to the Essex hotspot Sheesh.
In 2019, she traveled to Turks and Caicos with Jess and Natalya, with the trio sharing sun-soaked photos from their holiday together.
Jess later described them as “family friends” who always find time to catch up.
Following in Her Mother’s Footsteps
Millie has never hidden her wish to become a young mom — something that mirrors her own family story.
Her mother Kelly gave birth to Millie’s sister Paige at 21, while her father was just 19.
“This has been my thing since before I met Jake,” she explained on the Smartless podcast earlier this year.
“I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me. Of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it’s so important to start a family for me personally.”
Jake’s Promise Before Parenthood
For Jake, the son of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, the road to starting a family with Millie came with one important condition — marriage first.
“That was his thing,” she revealed. “And my thing was, I really want a family.
I really want a big family. I’m one of four. He’s one of four. So it is definitely in our future.”
The pair have made it clear that their home will always be open to family, whether through adoption or future children of their own.
Aligned on the Big Decisions
Millie has also spoken about how she and Jake were deeply aligned on major life choices before they even tied the knot.
“We talked about our political views, what kind of family we want to build, the kind of home we want to live in, the kind of relationship we’re looking for, the kind of careers we want,” she told Vanity Fair earlier this year.
