In a troubling turn of events, promising college basketball player Sincere Parker has found himself at the center of a serious criminal investigation.
The Memphis guard was arrested over the weekend following disturbing allegations involving an attack on his girlfriend.
Alleged Assault Reported Months After the Incident
According to police records, the incident actually took place back in late May.
The victim, who was in a relationship with Parker at the time, told authorities that the assault occurred on May 27 inside the Memphis apartment they shared.
She claimed that Parker became violent—pushing her, slapping her, and choking her during a heated altercation.
Physical Injuries and Broken Phone Cited in Police Report
The woman reportedly suffered visible injuries, including bruises and bleeding, as noted in the official police report.
She also alleged that Parker deliberately broke her cellphone—reportedly because he didn’t want her accessing the digital key to the apartment.
This act of property damage added to the seriousness of the case.
Arrest Warrant Issued and Parker Taken Into Custody
Nearly two months after the reported incident, a warrant was issued for Parker’s arrest on Friday.
The 22-year-old was taken into custody the following day and booked into the Shelby County Jail in Tennessee.
As of now, there is no confirmation on whether Parker has legal representation.
Arraignment Set for Early Next Week
Parker is facing a felony charge of aggravated assault as well as a misdemeanor charge for vandalism.
His arraignment is scheduled for Monday, where the court is expected to review the charges and determine the next steps in the legal process.
