Melania Trump greets the White House Christmas tree as she ushers in the holiday season in Washington D.C.

Melania Trump stepped into the festive season today at the White House, greeting this year’s Christmas tree with characteristic poise.

The First Lady, 55, wrapped up against the crisp Washington, D.C., weather while receiving the 25-foot concolor fir, which arrived in classic fashion on a horse-drawn carriage.

Her look was understated but elegant—a long cream-colored overcoat cinched at the waist, dark red elbow-length gloves, and tartan Manolo Blahnik heels, seemingly tipping a hat to her husband Donald Trump’s Scottish heritage.

Bare-legged, with her blonde hair cascading over her shoulders, she inspected the tree and called it “beautiful.”

A Warm Welcome for the Michigan Tree

The tree, sourced from Korson’s Tree Farms in Michigan, earned its spot as the top selection in the National Christmas Tree Association’s contest back in July.

This biannual competition gives growers nationwide the chance to have their tree displayed at the White House and the Vice President’s residence each year.

Melania shook hands with the driver wearing a top hat and with the woman accompanying the Clydesdale horses as the tree was carefully unloaded.

The tree is set to take its place in the iconic Blue Room, marking the official start of the First Family’s holiday events.

Festive First Family Plans

The Christmas tree delivery kicks off a series of seasonal ceremonies and celebrations.

On Tuesday, President Trump is scheduled to pardon two North Carolina turkeys, Gobble and Waddle, in the traditional Thanksgiving event at the White House.

Last month, Melania launched her “Celebrating America” ornament line, featuring limited-edition, handcrafted decorations ranging from $75 to $90.

The collection highlights iconic American symbols such as the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, and patriotic motifs like the star-spangled flag.

Each ornament carries her signature and includes a special 3D animated digital collectible.

Mixed Reactions to Ornament Collection

The ornament collection has drawn mixed reviews.

Many praised the craftsmanship and style, imagining how they would complement their holiday trees.

Others criticized the steep price point, urging the First Lady to offer more affordable options.

Melania’s approach to holiday décor has often sparked conversation.

In 2018, she was famously recorded expressing frustration over the White House festive preparations, saying, “You know, who gives a f**k about Christmas stuff and decoration?”

A History of Bold White House Décor

During her previous tenure, Melania’s Christmas décor made headlines for its dramatic flair.

She adorned the White House with icicle-draped Balsam firs, East Colonnade trees in bold blood-red, and 14,000 red ornaments throughout the residence.

While her office said the red represented “valor and bravery,” social media quickly dubbed the display the “murder trees,” sparking memes and debates about the unusual color scheme.

Despite the controversy, her festive vision has always been ambitious, blending tradition with bold, personal touches.

Today’s arrival of the White House Christmas tree continues that trend, signaling the start of a season full of American pageantry and First Lady-led celebration.
