In a twist that’s capturing headlines, First Lady Melania Trump is suing Hunter Biden for $1 billion over a false claim he made about her on a podcast.

The controversy erupted after Biden suggested she was introduced to Donald Trump by Jeffrey Epstein—a claim Melania and her team say is completely untrue.

The lawsuit comes after Hunter refused to apologize or remove the podcast video, leaving Melania’s legal team no choice but to take action.

Alejandro Brito, her lawyer, called the comments “false, defamatory, and lewd,” highlighting Biden’s history of leveraging famous names for attention.

Bill Maher Jokes About the Lawsuit

Even late-night television couldn’t resist weighing in.

On his HBO show, Bill Maher took aim at Hunter Biden, delivering jokes that drew laughter from his audience.

“Melania says she’s gonna sue Hunter Biden,” Maher began, earning immediate chuckles.

He continued, “That’s not the joke part! I really like this where she says she’s gonna sue him for a billion dollars.”

Maher then explained the situation and landed his punchline: “If Hunter loses, it’s going to be weird for him writing a woman a check because she’s not a prostitute,” sparking applause and more laughter.

The Controversy Behind the Claim

The saga started on the Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan podcast, where Hunter cited a Daily Beast report based on Michael Wolff’s reporting.

The claim—that Epstein introduced Melania to Donald Trump—was quickly debunked, with outlets like the Daily Beast retracting their stories and apologizing.

Political commentator James Carville also deleted his podcast segment and issued an apology.

Despite this, Hunter defended himself publicly, referencing Wolff’s book and a 2019 New York Times story about Epstein claiming he introduced Trump to Melania. When confronted with the lawsuit letter, he dismissed it, saying, “F**k that.

That’s not going to happen,” and suggested pursuing legal action could cost “millions” of dollars.

President Trump Supports His Wife’s Decision

Donald Trump has publicly backed Melania’s legal action, telling Fox News radio host Brian Kilmeade, “I told her, let’s go ahead and do it.

I let her use my lawyers. She was very upset about it.”

Trump reiterated that Epstein had nothing to do with introducing Melania to him and criticized Hunter and other media outlets for airing false stories.

He pointed to his own legal successes as a reason for supporting the lawsuit: “I said go forward, you know, I’ve done pretty well on these lawsuits lately.”

What’s Next

The legal battle is poised to draw intense media scrutiny, as both sides prepare for a high-profile courtroom clash.

While Hunter appears ready to fight back, the Trump team is pushing forward with the $1 billion suit, signaling that the dispute over these claims is far from over.
