Meghan Markle pauses restock of As Ever lifestyle brand in California as she focuses on building long-term stability after emotional sold-out launch

When most people think of Meghan Markle, they picture the royal headlines or her time on Suits.

But behind the scenes, she’s been quietly building something close to her heart—a lifestyle brand called American Riviera Orchard, and it turns out, it’s been an emotional rollercoaster.

Hitting Pause After a Wild Start

Meghan recently revealed that she’s putting the brakes on restocking her As Ever product line, which includes homemade-style jam and herbal tea.

Why? She wants the business to be “completely stable” before moving forward.

Despite a sold-out launch that cleared shelves in under an hour, Meghan admitted on a bonus episode of her podcast (featuring Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles) that going viral doesn’t always mean you’re ready to scale.

“We planned for a year, and everything sold out in 45 minutes,” she said.

“Yes, amazing.

But then what? Do we restock and sell out again in an hour—or does that just annoy customers?”

Scarcity Might Be Sexy, But Sustainability Matters More

Meghan likened the product launch to a sneaker drop—exciting, limited, and exclusive.

But she’s not chasing hype. “I don’t want you to eat that jam once every six months,” she said. “I want that to be on your shelf all the time.”

For Meghan, the mission goes deeper than the buzz. She shared that many don’t see the emotional weight behind the scenes.

“People see the flashy stuff and the product,” she said.

“But they don’t see how many tears I’ve shed.”

A Future Business With Princess Lilibet?

During the conversation with Tina Knowles, the two moms bonded over building businesses with their daughters.

Knowles co-created the Cecred haircare line with Beyoncé, and Meghan shared a heartfelt dream of her own.

“I wonder if one day I’ll be in business with Lili,” she said, referring to her daughter Princess Lilibet.

Tina loved the idea and responded warmly: “That’s the best.”

Hair Talk, Wigs, and Hollywood Realness

Meghan also opened up about the pressures of maintaining her hair while working in TV.

Tina discussed how Beyoncé uses wigs to protect her hair under stage lights, and Meghan recalled being given similar advice during her Suits days.

“Everyone was recommending I wear wigs,” Meghan said.

“I never ended up doing it—but I get it.

If I’d stayed longer in the industry, I probably would have.”

Tyler Perry, Letters to Beyoncé’s Publicist, and Queen Bey Energy

The episode wasn’t short on star-studded moments.

Meghan and Tina talked about their mutual friend Tyler Perry, who famously let Harry and Meghan stay in his LA home after their move to the U.S.

“Tyler talks about you all the time,” Knowles said.

Meghan called him “the most extraordinary soundboard.”

She also mentioned writing a heartfelt note to Beyoncé’s publicist Yvette Noel-Schure after attending a concert.

“She said the kindest things,” Meghan said.

“I just wanted her to know how much it meant to me.”

Beyoncé, Cowboy Carter, and a Royal Date Night

The podcast episode was recorded before Meghan and Harry attended Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour in LA—but it didn’t take long before they were there.

Tina told Meghan, “Y’all gotta come,” and Meghan excitedly replied, “Oh my gosh. I can’t wait.”

She later posted about the night on Instagram, calling it a “very fun date night,” and thanking Beyoncé and her team for the experience.

A Connection Years in the Making

This friendship between Meghan and Beyoncé isn’t new.

The two first met publicly in 2019 at the London premiere of The Lion King, where Beyoncé voiced Nala.

In the Sussexes’ Netflix documentary, Meghan read aloud a touching message from Beyoncé, who praised her “bravery and vulnerability” and told her she was “selected to break generational curses.”

What’s Next?

For now, Meghan’s pressing pause on production, but she’s dreaming bigger—of balance, of legacy, and maybe even a future business with her daughter.

Behind the royal titles and spotlight, there’s a woman who’s hustling, healing, and holding space for something deeper.
