A man recently shared a frustrating and controversial dating experience that quickly sparked a heated debate online.

The 31-year-old man, who remains unnamed, took to Reddit to tell the story of his date with a 28-year-old woman.

What began as a seemingly simple evening turned into a shocking and awkward situation.

The Date That Almost Didn’t Happen

The pair had been chatting on the dating app Hinge for about a week before finally deciding to meet in person.

However, things didn’t go as smoothly as planned.

The man explained that they were supposed to meet earlier in the week, but the woman had to cancel due to soreness from snowboarding.

After some rescheduling, they agreed to meet at a dive bar just before the man left for a trip.

“I had to catch a flight early the next day, so I didn’t plan on staying out too late,” he shared.

But despite the late timing, the first few drinks went down well, and they were getting along just fine.

A Twist in the Night

Things took an unexpected turn, though, after the second drink.

The man explained, “May be important to note she’s Colombian, I am American, but speak intermediate Spanish.”

After securing seats at the bar, a group of guys moved in next to them, one of whom was a Mexican-American man who spoke fluent Spanish.

The man shared that he was able to keep up with most of the conversation, but he soon got the feeling that the guy was flirting with his date.

“When he went to the bathroom, he asked if we were together. I said it was our first date,” he recalled.

To his surprise, the guy went ahead and asked for her number right in front of him.

The date ended with the woman staying behind while he had to leave to catch his flight.

“Is this a sign I have no game?” he wondered.
