Over their inability to conceive children, a Kenyan man is said to have slain his wife and hanged himself at their home in Ukwala, Ugenya, Siaya County. Enoch Omollo, 48, and his wife Dorothy Omanya, 43, were found dead with a suicide note.
According to Area Assistant Chief Henry Oduor, he received a text message from the woman’s relatives alerting him to a probable murder in Uloma C community. “At around 5.00 a.m., I received a call informing me that one of my residents had sent a message to his wife’s cousins informing them that he had slain their people, and so I rushed to his home immediately,” Oduor added.
” The Assistant Chief said upon arriving at Omollo’s home, no one opened the door and after frantic efforts to reach him, his officers broke in to find out what had transpired.
They found the lifeless body of Omollo’s wife in the bedroom of the house, while Omollo’s body dangled from a rope next to the bed with a suicide note narrating the events of the murder
Oduor revealed that the couple had disagreements over their lack of children which had led the man to marry another wife. The bodies were taken to Ukwala sub-county Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem examinations as police investigate the incident.
