Man killed by South African police officer during high-speed chase in Cape Town

According to Independent Police Investigative Directorate spokesperson Grace Langa the incident took place on Sunday afternoon at around 14:00.
“Bellville SAPS members were chasing a silver Toyota Corolla that did not have a registration number from Voortrekker road in Bellville.
Langa said while SAPS was pursuing the said vehicle, it happened that on the corner of Bill Bezuidenhout and Old Paarl road the SAPS vehicle bumped into a traffic light.

“The injured person was declared dead at the scene while the silver Toyota managed to flee. No SAPS member was injured.”

“It is further alleged that the deceased is a homeless white man and approximately 30 years old. There is a lead that is being followed about his family.”
